Graphic that says "Indigenous Peoples Day"

The second Monday of October is recognized in California as Indigenous Peoples Day. While not designated an official state holiday in California, Governor Newsom issued the state's 7th annual Proclamation formally celebrating the legacy of Indigenous peoples and the promise of their future generations.

Sonoma County is located on the ancestral lands of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. Both tribes are preserving their culture through language revitalization, passing on arts and culture, and contributing to the future of their youth.

This video highlights today's event honoring Graton Rancheria, Pomo, and Coast Miwok heritage hosted by Santa Rosa Junior College.
