November is Native American Heritage Month, and Native American Heritage Day is Friday, November 28th. At the November 12th Board Meeting, WSCUHSD passed a resolution to recognize our presence on Native land and the many contributions of Native people to our culture and society.
You can experience and learn about the culture for yourself by visiting the following:
SRJC's Multicultural Museum to view Elsie Allen's collection of Pomo basketry
Admire virtual exhibitions from the National Museum of the American Indian
Learn about the endangered American Bison and their coexistence with Native peoples
However you decide to celebrate Indigenous heritage this month, we hope you continue to recognize the contributions of Native Americans and the beauty of their culture year-round.
