Laguna High School Sports Program
Laguna High School has a co-ed sports program with other alternative High Schools in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Marin, competing in volleyball, softball, and basketball. Seasons for these sports span from September through the end of May. Volleyball begins in September through October, Basketball is from October through March and softball from March through May.
Our Basketball team primarily competes with schools in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sonoma, and Ukiah. We usually practice during and after school and at Laguna and Analy High Schools. Our season finally is a game played against one of our regular season opponents on either the Sacramento Kings or Golden State Warriors home courts. The athletes really look forward to this event, competing on the professional court and then enjoy dinner and sit down together to watch a professional game at the arena. This is one of the highlights of their school experience, and a way to bring the players together from different teams and enjoy time together outside of school.
Laguna High athletics is another way for our student-athletes to stay engaged and look forward to coming to school. It is a time we learn a great deal about dealing with pressure situations and balancing our lives with recreation and healthy activities. Students must be in good standing to participate in athletic activities.
